Exercising in a pool can be great for sore joints and other ailments that require low impact movement. ‘Aquatic exercises are performed in shallow or deep water, typically in an upright body position. The effects of gravity are dependent on how far the body is immersed in the water. In general (without taking into effect body composition) a body submerged to the waist bear 50% of its weight;submersion to the chest bears 25-35%; and submersion to the neck bears only 10% of body weight.’
